With an amazing architect, Pedro Pizarro, and a crew of local designers, builders, and radical dreamer, we co-created this cabaña to blend into the natural environment, to have minimal ecological impact, and yet to also be a comfortable and practical place to live. But perhaps more than anything, we wanted it to be beautiful.

Using techniques of bio-construction, we created earthen walls, bamboo supports, water catchment, and composting toilets to use the natural resources that the earth provides while at the same time a cement and stone foundation, American shingles, and a perfect sunset dipping pool for structural integrity and aesthetic. The architecture and design is flawless, the views are breathtaking (sunrise AND sunset), and perhaps the best part is the constant ocean breeze that cruises through the house while the rest of Zipolite sizzles under heat. That cool breeze literally the reason I bought the land and put the cabaña where it is.
